Australian private health insurance reforms stuck in the mud

Stuck_in_the_Mud,_Hull_-_geograph.org.uk_-_1175164The Australian government has recently set up a $2 million committee to address “junk” policies and rising premiums in the Australian health insurance market.

The promise has been long coming, and to many the latest announcement of a review committee has been met with criticism, with suggestions that the review is simply yet another hurdle before the problems are addressed.

Health insurers may see this as a stay of execution from any legislative change, but should not rest on their laurels as change must surely be in the offing.
