New plan gives access to over 350 world-class specialists

Sure Health 350 experts

New offering from AXA Gulf, Sure Health, offers clients a second opinion.

Expats in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) can now access the opinions of 350 medical experts from around the world. AXA Gulf has introduced its Sure Health offering that allow customers to request a second opinion from specialists when faced with serious health diagnoses.

AXA Sure Health will work with a network of internationally accredited, recognized and highly-qualified experts who will extend their knowledge and advice regarding the client’s condition.

Sure Health is fully embedded in AXA Gulf’s strategy to respond to customers’ needs. As healthcare becomes more and more accessible in the region, it can be difficult to know who to go to and where to get the best treatment.

Customers can contact AXA Gulf via telephone, email, or through the web and the support team will assess their situation and advise on the best specialist to consult. If the client is not suffering from a serious illness, but is simply unsure where to go for the best care, the support team will also advise in this situation, explained AXA Gulf in a statement.

As a step further Sure Health also offers assistance booking an appointment with the specialists for a face-to-face review of the condition. This provides added peace of mind for people who may not always be comfortable with a video or phone consultation.

The system provides customers with a second opinion of their diagnosis but any decisions on treatment is ultimately up to them.

“The experts will provide the necessary advice as per the medical condition and his/ her diagnosis but the further course of action is dependent on the patient as well as the treating doctor, said Jérôme Droesch, CEO of AXA Gulf.

Our objective through this endeavor is to offer a global outreach and expertise to our customers here in the Middle East, and we are confident about its success.”

The plans will be available from April, and while the price of premiums hasn’t been released, Droesch said it would depend on the existing policy, as some already include access to international specialists.
