Pacific Prime clients with Allianz Worldwide Care are seeing improvements to their benefits, as the international insurance provider makes changes to its individual and group plans.
On the standard Core Plans, palliative care and long-term care have been split into two categories and the benefits extended on both.
The rehabilitation treatment benefit has been enhanced to cover rehabilitation treatment within 14 days of discharge after the acute medical and surgical treatment ceases. A separate benefit for prescribed physiotherapy has been created for the standard out-patient plans.
These changes came into effect on 1 November 2013 and will affect all new business and renewals of international health plans.
On the Gold level out-patient plan Allianz has added benefits for prescription drugs and dieticians. On both the Silver and Gold level plans the routine health check has been expanded to include additional tests, and has been renamed “health and well-being checks”. Additional checks include (for gold-level members) genetic predisposition to breast and ovarian cancer screening, for example.
Allianz provides a core plan with basic benefits in four levels – Premier, Club, Classic and Essential – plus an Executive level for corporate plans. Clients can add out-patient, maternity, dental and repatriation cover, and choose from three geographical areas of cover: Worldwide, Worldwide excluding USA or Africa only. All these options allow clients to find the health insurance plan that’s tailored to their particular needs.
