IMG International has launched a new health insurance plan with a bizarre bonus benefit. The Patriot Green Plan includes a policy rider providing for a donation to the insured’s environmental organization of choice in the event of accidental death or dismemberment.
Patriot Green is designed for groups of 5 or more environmentally-conscious travelers, and includes an “Eco Sports Rider” covering injuries sustained in activities such as jungle zip lining, wildlife safaris and cave tubing. As far as the policy rider is considered, the insured may choose an environmental organization dedicated to conservation as the beneficiary of a USD 5,000 donation in the event of accidental death or dismemberment. The donation is paid by IMG on her behalf.
Both US citizen traveling abroad and others traveling outside their countries of origin are eligible for Patriot Green. The plan provides access to IMG’s network of 17,000 international healthcare providers. Coverage can be obtained for periods from 5 days to 2 years, and can only be purchased online.
