AXA PPP adds value to International Health Plans

International health insurance provider AXA PPP International has added a new medical case management system for its International Health Plan customers. Policyholders may choose whether or not to use the service, provided by Medix Medical Services Europe (Medix).

Medix is an independent specialist provider of case management services. It uses panels of health experts to review members’ cases and develop treatment plans. Each case is assigned to a team that works with the customer’s local care provider to collect relevant medical information and then move forward with a treatment plan.

Andrew Combs, Managing Director of AXA PPP International, said the Medix service would “help ensure (International Health Plan customers’) treatment plans are devised and implemented in accordance with best practice – wherever they may be in the world.”

The Medix service is included in International Health Plan members’ policy benefits, but they must “pre-authorize” treatment plans drawn up by Medix with AXA PPP in order to “activate” the service.
